Marty Smith is an 8 year old boy, born on April 4th, who lives with his family (Father David, Mother Susan and 5 year old sister Mary). He lives at the edge of Cycleville where his dad owns and runs the local machine shop. Mom stays home taking care of the family and does the books for the machine shop.
The Smiths own a large parcel of land that has been in the family for 100 years. Part of the land (200 acres) is leased to a local farmer to help support the family. 2 acres of the land is the yard, house and family shop area.
Marty and his sister are the 5th generation of motorcycle enthusiasts. Great great grandpa Claude Smith bought his first motorcycle (an Indian) in 1906. This started a tradition that has kept motorcycles in the family ever since. Great Uncles, Aunts and Cousins by the dozens all ride some kind of bike…as you'll discover in the continuing story.
